I had pre-ordered Halo 2 way back last year! I should just see if I can switch it over to the special edition!!!

Have to do that this weekend!

sure you can. in USA stores like Gamestop and Ebgames still have it as a preorder. Ans you should definitely switch to that special edition. It is going to be worth something..... Cool

I would really like to pre-order special edition but I doubt my local gamestop/eb has any left

I'm deffinately going to pre-order this bad boy... I was gonna wait a bit because I had a friend who worked in a video store and he could have gotten me a better deal (as in at least 20 bucks cheaper!) and I would have had the game on the Friday before the release date! but my friend moved too far away from his work and had to quit Sad

so now I have to do it the old fashioned/expensive way...

I preordered in Febuary '03, and I called GAME a few days ago and asked about switching.. They said the first few orders in their store will get the Special Edition. Luckily for me I'm third on their list Cool

Ordered my special edition on EBGames, and did the store pick up, because my store is doing a special early opening just for halo 2, to bad its some 6 months away.... man a HALF A YEAR! good thing I went to E3 and got to play it for 45 minutes, it r0x0rd my b0x0r2

Um... outlaw ur gonna be disappointed, but if you use the store pickup option, they actually send (ship) the game to the store, so you have to wait till it arrives,so actually, this way you will be getting it like a day later than everyone else. Sad

i know this because i emailed and asked eb how in store pickups work. Sorry for the bad news

tin box and a extra "making of" dvd on halo 2.

definately worth every penny of the 500 extra.

and i preordered mine today at gamestop. it's tight, they have this thing that they open at midnight the night before (11/8 ) and i pick it up then. that way i can play all through the night, take a day off of school, then keep playing that day also. no time for sleep with such an awesome game inside my xbox Wink

Ummm, I was also at E3 and I spoke quite a lot with a friend of mine who oversaw the setup of the Microsoft booth. He informed me that Halo 2 was only open to a select group of individuals by appointment only (including IGN) and that once the initial showing to these elite few was over Halo 2 disappeared from the show. I'm just curious (or maybe skeptical) about your line of work and how exactly you snatched an opportunity to play the elusive Halo 2 for 45 minutes considering the nature of its availability? By the sound of it, I would bet you're just some punk civilian livin' it up is some Halo 2 wet dream.
