im using the modem option for my gc. i dont know how to set it tho.
i need to get a cross over cat 5 cable but where does it go on my gamecube?

a modem option you mean like 56k modem?
cross over cables only work on the broadband adapter.
and if your playing any games that are lan from nintendo your gonna lag like crazy
