I have only one network card on the notebook, get a dhcp public ip address 202.x.x.x. my xbox has a default 169.x.x.x private IP.

Is the 169.x.y.z addy on the xbox static? sounds like it is because ure using a hub not a router. If thats the case, turn DHCP on on the xbox (thats "Set up network = yes" in evox).

Kai has a built in DHCP server and should give your xbox an ip.
but no, your pc and xbox do not have to be on the same subnet to work
all xbox traffic is on 0.0.0.1 so ip's are irrelevent for syslink play |
