Sorry for no longer adding people to the list, but I have chosen to continue this in a different, more organized forum.
For further information, please visit GTPlanet (bookmark this link) and register there.
It has been a great home to me for almost 2 years now.
Once the online-racing community increases, getting orgnized in online race series' and meaningful 1 on 1 battles shouldn't be any trouble at all.
I am certain none of you will be disappointed.

Here also tested also works, but a bit of a Lag.
Chinese version and JP compatible so we can all play together no matter what version we have. |

Lag?
Are you connecting to a dedicated server or just peer to peer style?
Being a LAN mode, it might be sending ALOT of packets, cuz it's supposed to have 0 latency.
I don't know how you could work around that, unless you ripped the disc, modified the net code, then re-burned it.
But then again, it could just be the fact that you weren't connecting to a server.

Ya I think it was on my end cable related
I switched cables and got much better speed today.
Just would like to run more test as far as GT4 lan settings, mainly with the network load setting (Large/small) to see which option works best. |

Ready and tested chinese version in Hong Kong
but the load time between game play is very slow. 2 player both in hong kong, we had to wait about 5 minutes.
also, can we switch off the replay after game play?

I can roll when the game arrives. Me bandwidth is plenty good to run with North Americans NP . I can’t really say or do much more ATM because like most of us here in this thread I don’t have a copy yet to test. I await. . . . |

I have a theory.
It was pretty evident that SCEJ wanted to get GT4 out before Christmas, which could explain the lack of network mode in the Japanese version. But now there's a three month delay between the Japanese and English releases.
Now, what I'm thinking is, either they're making some last minute additions or fixes for the English version, or they are using the time to set-up and test a network in North America so that the English version has has the extremely desireable supported network play feature.
Then for the Japanese version owners, they might pull something like building a network at the same time in Japan, then releasing a low-cost network play disc that works exclusively with their version of GT4.
Either that, or they know it's gonna be a major disappointment and they're just holding back on the SCEA release for added hype and better sales.. I guess we'll just have to wait.
Either way, I'm still buying it.
But 4 years plus 3 months in development.. it better be pretty damn good. |
