Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup (include model numbers):

PC has USB connection to BT Voyager 205 ADSL router which assigns IP of 192.168.1.3. This network interface is set to use ICS which in turn sets the Marvell 1gb NIC connected to the Xbox to 192.168.0.1. The xbox retreives an IP via DHCP from the Marvell NIC in the following range 192.168.0.2 - 254.

Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it?

Norton Internet Security Personal Firewall installed but disabled while setting Xlink Kai up and troubleshooting.

Operating System? Windows XP Pro SP1
Problem description?

Load into Kai and network is reachable. I can chat to my contacts and they can see my PING. Only problem I seem to have is Console is not detected. I have searched for games in System Link. Initially I did think it was because xbox and Marvell NIC are on 192.168.0.x while router and USB interface are 192.168.1.x Is it worth trying to change the Marvell NIC to 192.168.1.x and setting a static IP on xbox in same subnet? Also saw this which I will try:

if its a 2 NIC setup do this

Run regedit and edit the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
and change IPEnableRouter to 1
Then reboot.

Any suggestions or obvious mistake I've made from above info, any help apreciated Wink

http://tutorials.packetme.com/2nic.html

Follow this guide to make sure you have everything set up correctly.

But since network is reachable, is should be good to go. You might want to uninstall Norton and try then, it has some sort of worm protection which is still active when you disable norton and migh cause trouble.

So see if you can uninstall and please reply with your findings.

If any of the new versions don't work for you (no winpcap versions) and you get the dreaded HNERR_DRIVER_NOT_LOADED error upon starting up, here is your fix.

1) Make a back up of your registry. start>run>regedit>file>export
2) Make a notepad file named hnerr.reg
3) Copy and paste all of the following into the hnerr.reg file you created:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\PSSdk21]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\PSSdk21]

Thanks guys for taking the time to reply, it's all working ok now. This is what I had to do to get it working.

First changed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
IPEnableRouter to 1

Still didn't work so then changed in the Kai config tool the interface used from the BT Voyager 205 connecting NIC to the Marvell (Xbox connected NIC).

All works great Very Happy Think it was a combination of both.

Thanks again guys
