Hi there i have a netgear router DG834 with firewall and modem built in ..
The problem is that i cant control KAI with XBMC..
I cant see any people. and xbmc doesnt log in to KAI??
Launching kai manually from pc works fine!!
And i have changed the config file for kai..
kaiPort=0
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=ALL
kaiTimeout=NEVER
kaiNIC=3
kaiLaunch=BOTH
When i start Kai i get the ip 10.254.x.x in avalunch.
And XBMC HAVE DHCP enabled in XML..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neatgear
Lan Ip:192.168.40.1
|
Computer NIC(1)-Internet (INTERNET SHARING ON)
DHCP
|
NIC(2) Connected to Xbox
STATIC IP:192.168.0.1
DNS SAME AS ROUTER
|
XBOX
DHCP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is WRONG??
If i have DHCP enabled on the router I CAN CONTROLL KAI WITH XBMC
And see people but not any games in syslink mode..
Does any one have any solution for working setup for this??? |

I think this is your prob -
You have kaiLaunch set to 'both'. This will launch both the Engine and the UI, but to control Kai from your XBox you just need to run the engine on your PC. Try setting it to kaiLaunch=ENGINE which will just run the engine. Post back any result
EDIT:
oops, I missed this bit:

So I might be wrong... Worth a try though |

Thanxs for the reply!!
But i tried to change the kai config to this
kaiPort=0
kaiDeepPort=0
kaiAccept=ALL
kaiTimeout=NEVER
kaiNIC=3
kaiLaunch=ENGINE
------------------------------------------------
And it didnt work...
i havent forward any port in the router.. It has UPnP (ON)
(Have tried Also this))
If i start first the xbox and get the DHCP IP from NIC(2)
and then starts kai.
After that i start xbmc on the xbox then i can control KAI but cant see
any games in syslink mode.. (Strange)..
I have noticed that if i get the DHCP IP from kai 10.252.x.x i cant control kai from xbmc.. Only if i have the DHCP IP from NIC(2). 192.168.0.X ??? |

In that case I think you need to forward a port. I think you can use any port, I have 8602 open from using XBC. Once you have a port forwarded, put it in the kaiPort= setting.
I think people have had this problem before, and it ended up just needing a port to be forwarded, so you could try that I'm sure some of the network guys can help a lot better though - and maybe even confirm if what I said about forwarding a port is right or not... |

Well if it's seeing your xbox and giving it a DHCP address you should be good to go.
If you want to control kai from xbmc then you need to set a static ip for your xbox so that it wont grab one from kai.
Was there anyone playing when you tried looking for games? |

is there a proper method of turning it on (ie: engine first, than xbox) |
