There IS no solution. LAN Battle will ONLY allow Arcade mode cars...

Aww man, I didn't know that. Was going to get a PS2, solely for this game, and racing my tuned cars against my friends' tuned cars.

Sad

It gets even better...

2 Player Arcade Mode will only allow Arcade Mode cars too. No GT/Simulation Mode cars...

why would they do that?! how stupid is that..

even with gt3 you could play 2 player arcade with tuned cars..

what exacly would be the downside of having that in there? it was done before.. and you'd think now they would have worked harder to ahve it in lan.. (never triend ilink with gt3)

they better have a shit load of arcade cars...

If I understad correctly it has something to do with the fact that in Sim mode you have to pay for track time to practice. If you could access garage in other modes you could practice for free.

I don't have a copy of the game yet and the US version might be different, but that's the way it seems for now...

It suck we finally get an workable online going and we can only race with "stock" cars...

Japanese, Chinese version = no LAN or arcade garage battle...

According to someone on GTPlanet that has a pre-release PAL version says garage battle in arcade mode is included on his version, but no word yet on LAN.

Still holding out a little hope for these features on the U.S. version. Hopefully PD will do us right...

If not theres always Xbox and Forza...

I can't believe I just said that... Sad

As far as LAN I disagree.

It keeps people from racing really heavily modified cars against people who just got the game.

Makes it "fair" no matter what as long as you pick the same car.

Yeah I agree, it makes it an even playing field with everybody using the same car settings. One of my complaints about other online racing games was never getting a chance to race the same car & setup vs another person..I never got to see how well I stacked up to the competition.

But there probably should be a hardcore mode for people who are advanced in minute detail mechanics or have had the game for awhile so they can put their knowledge and driving skill to the test.
