Alot of times when you are in chat mode (and not looking for games), the computer will show network not reachable, even if your system is ready to go. Try entering the arena selection area and then check diagnostics for network reachable.

Not exactly a "solution", it's written clearly in the Quick Start Guide which everyone should be following, but nevertheless still a good reminder..
