Well this morning, the CEO of Nintendo made his big ol' keynote speech!
Several of my predictions were right, plus a few other cool stuff.
Iwata, Nintendo CEO, gave his keynote at GDC today.
First things first: The DS.
Nintendo announced their online service for the DS.

More details will be at E3- Animal Crossing DS is confirmed online. (I suspect Metroid Hunters will be as well, since it was pushed back to the same release date as AC DS)
He also demonstrated two games, Nintendogs (a...dog simulator? the graphics look better than N64, though) and Electroplankton (which is a musical game).
Now, the Revolution!

Iwata confirmed that the Revolution will have wireless built in and will focus on online play.
He also confirmed that IBM is making the processors and ATi the graphics cards.
And finally, in a surprise twist, he confirmed the Revolution will be fully backwards compatible with GameCube games!
Finally, Zelda.
Remember the Zelda trailer? It wasn't a trailer, actually. It was a teaser.
He revealed the actual trailer. And it is sweet. Watch it now at http://media.cube.ign.com/media/572/572738/vids_1.html
Utterly awesome. |
