My setup is as follows:
I have cable internet. My PC is connected to a wired router, as is my xbox, ps2, and dreamcast.
I have a wireless router hooked up TO that wired router, from which the rest of my family gets their net connection.
I set up my PSP's network settings just now, and it connects "to the internet" just fine.
How exactly do I get the PSP to get through the wireless router, then the wired router, to my PC, and to the internet FROM there, so I can play games? |

A DLink DWL-1000AP (version 1A, if that matters). |

Then you don't, you need a wireless adaptor from the sticky list in your PC for the PSP to connect to in Ad-Hoc mode... |

So I absolutely MUST have my PSP try to connect to the PC running xlink, and it cannot connect through the router?
Not sure I understand. The stickied list lists cards, not routers. |

The wireless adaptor MUST be hooked up to a PC that has an internet connection "wired" to it. There ARE 2 routers that you can run KAID on but that ain't one of them....................I don't think....... |

That didn't really help.
I'm saying that I have:
A cable internet connection directly WIRED to a router, WIRED to a PC. That PC is running kai.
I have also a WIRELESS router WIRED to the beforementioned WIRED router. My PSP is able to connect to the internet just fine through this setup, but I can't figure out how kai works with it, if at all, and this answer is sorta sketchy, it seems. I saw nothing mentioning incompatible ROUTERS. |

Modem--------router--------PC-------wireless adaptor------PSP
Geddit now ??
Kai uses "Ad-Hoc" (computer-computer) mode to connect to other PSP's as if they were in the same room. To get wireless updates etc. you are using "Infrastructure" mode which is a straight internet connection.
This is why you MUST have a wireless adaptor attached to your computer regardless of whether your router is wireless or not. This takes your secondary router out of the picture altogether unless you wire that to the PC as well through another NIC card and make THAT your wireless adaptor.
Any clearer ?? Hope so, cos I'm off to bed. |

So, a game that uses "Infrastructure" can connect to the internet and play with like, anyone else, right? |

So is it that nobody is playing Darkstalkers, or is it that the back of the box was lying to me? |
