For WRC: FIA World Rally Championship to work over XLink Kai, special steps have to be taken. It will not suffice to just connect to the PSP_AUCES00005_L_LHEADTOH network, because it switches SSIDs to PSP_AUCES00005_L_{Scrambled Mac-Address} whenever a game is started.

To solve this the following can be done:

• Use CWCheat to stop the game from SSID switching entirely, which works with all methods of connecting to your PSP/Vita/PS TV/Emulator.

Requirements:

• A modded PSP/Vita/PS TV capable of running CWCheat, in this example a PSP is used. The PSP emulator JPCSP can also be used, see the second section of this guide.
• A way to connect your PSP to XLink Kai (not covered here).
• The EU release of WRC: FIA World Rally Championship, the US version still needs the correct patches.

PSP

1. Download CWCheat.
2. Extract the ZIP-file you just downloaded.
3. Connect the PSP to your PC and enable USB mode.

   

4. Copy the cwcheat folder from the extracted ZIP into the seplugins folder on the PSP.

   

5. Go into the cwcheat folder you just copied and open cwcheat.db with notepad. Right mouse button on cwcheat.db -> open with -> notepad.

   

6. Copy the following codes into the cwcheat.db, this can be put at the top of the file,

   _S UCES-00005
   _G WRC
   _C1 XLink Kai multiplayer patches
   _L 0x20184AC4 0x20040003
   _L 0x20184AC8 0xaf848970 ; sets state to already connected
   _L 0x20184AD0 0x00000000
   _L 0x20184AD4 0x20040002
   _L 0x20184AD8 0xae24001c ; pretends ssid already switched
   

   
   Note: In this case pursuit force is added, for WRC the cheat above has to be added!
7. Edit the GAME.txt in SEPLUGINS with a text editor and add the following line:

   ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.PRX 1
   

   
   You are done on the PC side, now onto the PSP side!
8. Start up the game.
9. When the game has started, hold Select , a menu should have popped up.

   

10. Press X on 'Enable cheats' so the checkbox says [Y].
11. Press O to back out of the menu.
12. Note: This cheat messes with disconnecting, which will freeze the game after a race, do the following to circumvent this:
13. When a race finishes, flip the Wi-Fi switch on the PSP, so that the Wi-Fi switch message shows.

    

14. Proceed normally!
15. Enjoy the game!

    

JPCSP

1. Start the game normally by using [File => Open File] and pressing the start button.
2. When the game has started navigate to the cheats menu and select CWCheats.
3. In the resulting window paste:

1. Press the On/Off button so it is pressed.

   

2. Enjoy the game!
